Today in our maths week we are going to work on the series with toilet paper tubes. The proposal is the classic game of stringing the toilet paper rolls on a string. It is very interesting as it is made from recycled material and has a large format.
Material for the series.
- cardboard tubes of toilet paper (in houses with children, getting several is a matter of a few days :-)), also cardboard tubes of kitchen paper.
- gouache type paints or different coloured papers.
- string for stringing or several pipe cleaners.
Preparation:
I think 15 tubes is enough.
You have to cut them into two or three pieces to get tubes of different sizes. Then each piece is either lined with coloured paper or painted with gouache.
To string the tubes you can use rope and introduce the series you want them to create and make a knot with the ends of the rope.
Children will have fun stringing tubes and creating necklaces like this one:

To be able to carry out this activity in class we will ask the parents to make the materials at home so that they can carry it out in class and the teacher or the students will create different series to be reproduced by the students.
