This week we are working on pairing by printing, when we talk about pairing by printing or by another quality, we are talking about one of the activities that we can propose and that in fact the children do spontaneously. It is important to have proposals where the criteria by which they have to match is different. For example, they can be matched on the basis of colour, shape or size.

On this occasion, we have found in the blog No time for Flash Cards (all the photos are from there), a great idea of pairings where the pieces can be matched because they coincide in the printing.

They explain us the step by step of how to make this material and it is really very simple and with a very showy result.

Materials

  • Eva rubber or circular foam.
  • Permanent markers of different colours
  • Scissors

How to manufacture the pairing material

If you don't have or can't find Rubber Eve in the format of circles (I don't have :-(), simply take a sheet of Rubber Eve and using a bowl or other object with a circular outline, draw circles and cut them out. I would recommend that you make all the circles the same colour.s

Draw different motifs on the circles.

Now simply cut the circles in half.

The material is now ready for use - let's make matches by printing!

Very easy to do!! Right?

Comments:

- If all the circles are the same colour, the small ones will have to be matched by looking exclusively at the print as the colour doesn't intervene (or interfere).

- This activity is suitable for children between 2 and 4 years old.

- It is a proposal of "Montessori inspiration".

- The children have to carry out the activity individually and without our help - it's all about putting their logical thinking into action!
